My teaching goal is to use student-centered, inclusive teaching pedagogies to foster critical thinking, offer students opportunities to acquire new academic skills, and bring an international perspective to students’ thinking.
I was a Graduate Fellow at Futures Initiative from 2018 to 2020, advocating student-centered pedagogy and structuring equality in the classroom. I was a Writing-Across-Curriculum Fellow at Kingsborough Community College. Through this fellowship, I realize the importance of incorporating informal and formal writings throughout teaching process and let students clarify thinking through various forms of writing. I also love to incorporate digital and media tools into my classroom, such as the usage of the interactive mapping website, SocialExplorer.com and short documentaries for students to visually understand sociological concepts.
